The Master of the ceremony failed to recognise Mr Lawal who was dressed in a green kaftan, despite waiting to the end of the event that lasted for about three hours

Naija News recalls that Mr Lawal was sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 30, 2017 after he was indicted in a grass cutting scandal unraveled by a Senate panel.

Babachir sack follows the report of a three-man panel led by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo that investigated him alongside the former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke.

Naija News had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari during the event assured his supporters that their handwork and loyalty would be adequately rewarded.

Buhari, who expressed gratitude to his supporters, said, “some individuals and organisations might be feeling disappointed because we have not been able to please everyone.”

“I would like to assure you that this time, handwork and loyalty will be rewarded adequately.’’ He said.
