Boko Haram terrorists have killed 40 farmers in Rann, the capital of Kala Balge local government area in Borno state.
The assailants were found on a motorcycle by shooters on their farm and killed on May 22.
Locals told SaharaReporters that 60 people had died while many others were unaccounted for.
“Boko Haram militants surrounded their vehicles with guns and knives and started killing them every day. About 50 people were buried in Rann on Monday morning.” Today the dead have returned; the death toll has risen. 60 now. “
Zagazola Makama, a combat expert and a security analyst at Lake Chad, said many of the soldiers attacked farmers with knives.
“More than 40 farmers were killed, and some were mutilated and strangled by terrorists.
