DAVIDO

Award-winning Davido has opened up about why he doesn’t seem to have been accepted as a hit singer.

He said that due to his wealthy family, he was not considered a successful singer.

Speaking on the IONWANNATALK podcast, the DMW boss said his absence from the Grass to Grace story, which is a key acceptance criterion for Nigerians, makes his impact on Africa more difficult, despite the appreciation from the music scene of the world.

Davido also claimed envy in the music scene, and although he was born with a golden spoon, he tried much harder than the average man, but his bravery was always understated.

According to him: “Without being arrogant, when will the industry see another Davido? Let’s face it… A kid where I come from was pushed and suffered.

I can say that I suffered more than many people who have no money. And I could build what I built. It won’t happen for a long time.

I don’t have any weed to embellish the story. And it’s usually very hard for Nigerians to accept it without it.

“That’s why I’m asking you, because I know…

I don’t think the industry needs anything because it’s always going to be the same. There’s always going to be envy. “
