New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso has said that Labor candidate Peter Obi could be his running mate in the 2023 presidential election.

In an interview with Channels, Kwankwaso said Obi should not have joined any political party after leaving the PDP.
It has;
“Many people have suggested that (for Obi to be a candidate). I believe it will be possible if he does not join the other party, and he has already become a candidate, as seen on the news now.
“We hope to see what happens in the next few days or weeks.”
Kwankwaso, in particular Obi, also said the world had an opportunity to discuss various national issues.
He added;
“We were able to discuss with each other many national issues until the announcement of the Labor Party’s presidential candidate.”
Asked if the party would consider electing a deputy from the South East, he said the NNPP had not reached an agreement. He said in the eyes of former APC and PDP party leaders; the NNPP needed a strong candidate as the party’s presidential candidate.
Kwankwaso said;
“It simply came to our notice then. After the meeting, the team will sit down and see if we can find a good, honest, and enthusiastic person; someone who receives; which could bring more people to our party to elect our party as NNPP vice president from the southern part of the country. “
