Today, April 8, unidentified shooters ambushed a soldier in Osisioma, Tonimas Junction, Aba, Abia State, setting fire to his patrol van.

Soldiers are believed to have been ambushed by many gunmen at the Tonimas junction axis of the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt road.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had declared Friday, April 8, a sit-at-home day in solidarity with their beleaguered leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was brought before a court in Abuja.

The State Police Command has confirmed the attack but says it is unclear if any officers were killed in the attack.

The Nigerian military has yet to react to the development.
